Barney continues to explore his new territory. His latest expedition has been into the dark underbelly of consumption: The Garbage.
What. I’m just sitting here. I like the view.
You do not, Barney. There’s nothing to see down there. What are you up to?
See? I’ve moved. Is there something?
I just have a gut feeling.
Bean. Get your mind out of the sewer.
[Bean is unpersuaded.]
Look! Over there!
[and let the games begin]
Victory.
Immersion.
[clean-up and obscene sound-track omitted as unsuitable for family viewing]
What. I’m just sitting here. I like the view.
Meanwhile . . . .
Where’s my breakfast? I want it. So I can hurl it up all over your formerly nice family-heirloom inlaid-wood table. And then scarf it back down again.
All in a day’s work.
About nadbugs
Anita loves cats. This must be because she, too, has had nine lives. She’s been dancing since she could walk, she was a commercial artist and advertising producer, she earned a third-degree black belt in Aikido, she is a drummer with the Afrique Aya Dance Company, she is an attorney, and she’s a meditator and a devoted student of Nonviolent Communication. She also spent one lifetime sidelined with a devastating back injury in 1992. Since then – FELDENKRAIS METHOD® to the rescue. The FELDENKRAIS METHOD is all about dreaming concretely – thinking intelligently and independently by way of a gracious and kind physicality. The work affords all who study it a process by which to reach, with movement, into the mind and the heart, to make nine lives into one whole being.
Yes you did (re: the tag).
But: surprise! hahahahahahahaa
You get to be warm now with your furnace; there is no correlation or causation I’m sure…
Let me see if I understand: Barney is interested in recycling and Bugs has mastered the Art of Reuse.
HAH!!!!!
I’m here for you, girl! <:-o Anytime I may be of assistance…. (muhahahahahaha)
With friends like that . . . .
Just wanted to say, tuxies are usually super smart and Barney is exceptional!
There is something about the back end of a cat scrambling in or under something that makes me go squeeeee!!! And Barney is just asking for cuddles!! As for Bugs? Well he obviously enjoyed his eats so much the first time, he wanted to enjoy the experience again!
Oh! Bad kitty! I’m now glad we have a heavy metal kitchen garbage bin! And I don’t mean that it has Iron Maiden stickers all over it. Even though it should.
Snort.
I keep my garbage in a pail under the kitchen sink, but it requires a baby latch to keep out one kitteh.
Scrolling down my blog reader I did a double take with the photo again. Still can’t get over how much our cats look alike!!
We’re having a Cats in Boxes photo contest — you can win free cat food and treats! YUM!
Baby latch. Great idea. Keep the humans away from the Drano.
I agree with Laurel: Yes, you did! But I do understand that puke and garbage were not the things going through your mind when you started this ‘cat-thing’! I can relate.
Hummmmm…. So the cool and peaceful Barney is mischievous too? Ha ha! That’s a great combo!
Love the gifs, love the update.
There’s much more to Barnes than just the Yoda-like image. This morning he raced all the way up the screen door and from thence onto the top of the “real” door — twice. He is coming more and more into his own.
So I see! That’s a great thing that he’s now feeling comfortable to be himself. 🙂
Yes. Of course, I liked him when he was more uncertain. He was more — AFFECTIONATE. Durn it. Now he’s too independent. Durn it.
Aww… I understand that. Considering his arrival is still very recent, I’m sure the two of you will, as times goes by, create your own rituals and things that you do together and you’ll be able to bask in the affectionate-Barney moments.
Patience. It so often comes down to that, doesn’t it.
Unfortunately, yes. Have a great Sunday!
That’s the way, boys!
You stop that! Don’t encourage!
Hee hee hee hee hee hee….
You too, Ivy!
just looking at the gif, you’d think he just wants to play with the flippy lid, but then, uh oh! nope, he’s being ornery! Naughty boy!
I’ve been meaning to ask, does Barney squint at the camera or does he have that half lidded look all the time? Star squints, she’s got beautiful round eyes, but on the blog they are almost always squinty *sigh*
Great question, Andrea. He does that lidded thing quite a lot. But also has beautiful round eyes, specially when he’s alert. (Wish I’d had a camera when he first got here and didn’t know anything about the flippy lid — and jumped on top. And fell in. With a crash. But I wouldn’t want to humiliate him. Better left unphotographed.)
Back in our old place the kitty who camed before me used to do the garbage thingy. So mom used to stack stuff in front of it and on the side of it. Like phone books and the humdidifier. So no more tipped garbage. Mostly.
I, on the other hand, am not interested in garbage. It also sits on top of my PTU. Just in case.
Hahaha, Our cats don’t like the garbage can. Suki once fell off it, and ever since she doesn’t come close to it. 😛
Good for Suki — but not our Barnes! He remains undeterred!
Hahahaha! I love your funny face!
LOL 😀
Spoken like a true Mom!
Oh no. Our dachshund used to empty bins if we left them in reach. But apart from the odd rummage, Cat and MasterB have been very restrained. Sophie Scott posted something similar about one of her cats a year or so ago. If I find the
Ink, I’ll pop back.
