A Drink . . .

. . . for me?  How kind.  I’ll have the Gruner Veltliner, 1999 Nikolaihoff Im Weingebirge.

Oh.  You’re talking about the cats.  Of course you are.

Happy to oblige.  For almost two months now, I’ve been hanging onto a video of cats drinking that I saw in Linda Cole’s article on the excellent Responsible Pet Ownership blog.  Now exams are done, and I’m in waiting mode for five weeks give or take, I can finally have this long-awaited drink with you.  Though hardly with the ease and elegance the cats bring to this as they bring to all else.

Take a look at this amazing video.

And then for contrast, check this out.  I have nothing whatsoever against dogs, I absolutely love dogs, but honestly.

About nadbugs

Anita loves cats. This must be because she, too, has had nine lives. She’s been dancing since she could walk, she was a commercial artist and advertising producer, she earned a third-degree black belt in Aikido, she is a drummer with the Afrique Aya Dance Company, she is an attorney, and she’s a meditator and a devoted student of Nonviolent Communication. She also spent one lifetime sidelined with a devastating back injury in 1992. Since then – FELDENKRAIS METHOD® to the rescue. The FELDENKRAIS METHOD is all about dreaming concretely – thinking intelligently and independently by way of a gracious and kind physicality. The work affords all who study it a process by which to reach, with movement, into the mind and the heart, to make nine lives into one whole being.

I raise my glass to you all, my friends…

  2. Sparkle says:

We kitties are way more graceful, and shall I say, scientific, that dogs could ever hope to be!

  3. That’s a nice wine! Purrs to you and enjoy!

  4. What lovely kats! Purrs!

  5. Those videos were fascinating. And the best we humans can do is tip the liquid in. Rather lame by comparison!

  6. Well that proves it once and for all … cats ARE superior in every way!!!

First, happy news that you finished the second part of the Bar! (Though I’m sure that the waiting isn’t easy either…) Second, are you trying to say that dogs are messy drinkers? (Wait, I can’t even contest that. As graceful and elegant as my lovely greyhounds are most of the time, they make a complete mess of everything when they try to drink. Or eat.) :)

  8. MOL, dogs drink so sloppily compared to the kitties!!

Thanks for the shout out, glad you liked the post.

    Beautiful photos!

    Two precious babies!

  11. Basil says:

It’s just cause we have to be quick – there is the house to protect, balls to fetch, people to greet… we don’t just sit around all day being pampered :0P

  12. I have to admit they are the cutest.

  13. Lidia says:

Cats are much cuter than dogs. ;) Hihi
