A Dream Coming True

A while back I wrote about my dear friend’s son, an extremely talented artist who’s just graduated from the fifth grade.  At the time I wrote, the plan was, I was just going to help him get started with his own blog.  I really didn’t want to horn in on his show – so I just thought I’d hope that he would turn his talent to cats and leave it at that.

But – ages and ages ago, I wrote up a few ideas for a comic-strip.  (About Bugs and me, need you ask?)  Fast forward to now . . . .

Who’d have thought this guy would be so sweet as to take my ideas and bring them to life.  Introducing. . . . our new strip:

Bugs & Bean

Here’s a first draft of the first frame.

If you would be so kind as to hop over to bewilderedcomics, the young man’s blog – which we’ve now got up and running – and drop him an encouraging pee-mail . . .

That’d be great.  He loves those hits!

And we love your well-wishes.

About nadbugs

Anita loves cats. This must be because she, too, has had nine lives. She’s been dancing since she could walk, she was a commercial artist and advertising producer, she earned a third-degree black belt in Aikido, she is a drummer with the Afrique Aya Dance Company, she is an attorney, and she’s a meditator and a devoted student of Nonviolent Communication. She also spent one lifetime sidelined with a devastating back injury in 1992. Since then – FELDENKRAIS METHOD® to the rescue. The FELDENKRAIS METHOD is all about dreaming concretely – thinking intelligently and independently by way of a gracious and kind physicality. The work affords all who study it a process by which to reach, with movement, into the mind and the heart, to make nine lives into one whole being.

Been and seen! Great stuff 🙂

Am wondering why comments wants to default to my facebook page? 8~]

    • nadbugs says:

Thank you, CAT! BWcomics checks his stats, so he will really appreciate your traffic. Re the FB default — ??? Something strange . . . . and in my world, it’s going on with comments. I started getting inundated with e-mails about new ones to others’ posts — til I realized that “somebody” had checked the “notify me” as a default. Me? If so, I’m really losing it . . . Or maybe it’s FB going public? Who knows? This is the trouble with this interweb stuff, wonderful tho it may be in other ways. Who is the “who” behind all this? Mark n Steve, Zuckerberg & Jobs? You don’t even need to be alive??

      • Oldcat says:

The comment innudation is something WP did a few weeks back. You can change your default back by clicking on “manage email delivery” at the bottom of the Blogs I Follow list or in each notify email.

Thank you, OC! The nerve of them. However, per your advice, am now watching the bottom of each comment in a hawk-like fashion. Never did figure out the “manage e-mail” thing, tho — I could only see an option for subscriptions, not for comments . . . . But no problem, if I manage to remember about each “notify” comment.

I just saw a WP corporate blog post that said–“oops, sorry, you didn’t like that auto check box and we’ll change it back.” it was driving me bananas…. and lots of other folks, too!

regarding comment subscriptions, there is a line at the top of the subscriptions page with little tiny letters that includes “Comments.” REALLY hard to find.

    I sense talent!
    That draft looks really good!

I went over to check it out. The lad has potential, huh? So glad to see the draft, can’t wait to see the final strip! 😉

  4. That’s really good! I’m following now to see how it plays out.

I’m on my way to check this new blog out!

It’s great! I think these two images summarize everything! 🙂

    Smoochies to the boys!

    • nadbugs says:

Me too, and it’s totally from him — I didn’t see the image this way at all. But I love this, how his eye adds so much “cattitude” to the thing. Synergy! And BTW, looloo — WELCOME!

what’s pee-mail? I hesitate to ask, but curiosity will out!

    • nadbugs says:

Oy. I’m afraid the cuteness factor will suffer in translation. But curiosity must be satisfied. “E”-mail becomes “pee”-mail when animals talk about it. Heh heh heh. Still cute? Well — still seems so over here. But perhaps only if you suffer a cuteness deficit like Bean does.
