Featured Feline: Meet Maximus

This little ginger ninja is about five months old.  My dear friend Lani of the big heart made me lunch yesterday, so we could have some rare friend-time and I could meet little Maximus.  You can see he’s a blur of activity, even though he’s already a lap-kitty just five minutes after we met.

Here he is, a blur of activity, enjoying the goatskin I brought him.

Lani took him in, from our local shelter, supposedly to keep resident-cat Dolly company.
Dolly, however, is not fully with the program.  I may have mentioned that Little Maxie tends to be a blur of activity.

Here are some shots Lani took of Maxie getting his first field-lesson in claw-configuration.  They work great going up, but –

— going down not so much.  Here he is after falling head-first a ways, and then hauling up on a handy branch.  Nice save Maxie!

Not pictured:  Championship-caliber hissing on Dolly’s part.

Cat politics.

About nadbugs

Anita loves cats. This must be because she, too, has had nine lives. She’s been dancing since she could walk, she was a commercial artist and advertising producer, she earned a third-degree black belt in Aikido, she is a drummer with the Afrique Aya Dance Company, she is an attorney, and she’s a meditator and a devoted student of Nonviolent Communication. She also spent one lifetime sidelined with a devastating back injury in 1992. Since then – FELDENKRAIS METHOD® to the rescue. The FELDENKRAIS METHOD is all about dreaming concretely – thinking intelligently and independently by way of a gracious and kind physicality. The work affords all who study it a process by which to reach, with movement, into the mind and the heart, to make nine lives into one whole being.

So adorable! Seeing your friend’s cat situation sure makes your previous Bugs vs Fang situation be seen in a whole new perspective, right?

  2. nadbugs says:

Really! Jackson Galaxy, and Teresa of Tellington, are heaven-sent! Plus I imagine Lani will have her hands full also because of the big age gap between Madame Dolly and Mr. Gingerness Spice.

  3. “Adorable” is the word that came to me too! These photos are a great way to start the day–thank you.

Oh I’m just grinning with pleasure, BWC. Kittens. What is not to love!! W.C. Fields played an embittered caustic old fellow; feeling so sorry for that character at the moment although dang he was pretty funny with it all. (“Anyone who hates children and animals can’t be all bad.”) !!! When checking on the quote, I found another pretty funny story, about him who seemed really adorable himself in real life: When he was in the hospital dying, a friend caught him reading the Bible. “Looking for loopholes,” Fields explained. 🙂

    Aww, squee!

He’s so cute! And blurry! 😀

  5. We love ginger kittens. I hope this one is well supervised. It takes months to develop good tree climbing skills like our Odin 🙂

  6. Wazeau says:

Just adorable (and not because he’s a baby Nekoka)!

ahoy there! have you seen this: http://wp.me/p14ggD-eV and then followed by this: http://wp.me/p14ggD-eY ??!!

    AAAH, He’s adorable!!

  9. Pluma says, ‘he is so cute, I would like to play with him!’

  10. What an adorable little scamp! I feel for your friend, that age thing is our biggest problem. A one year old and a 13 year old.. But my parents added a young one to an older kitty before and had no issues at all! Actually, come to think of it, I added a kitten to a group of older kitties a long time ago and there werent any issues then either. Personality I guess, MOL. Or Purrrsonality! I wish your friend lots of luck and hope they settle with each other quickly!

It seems there are no hard & fast rules, doesn’t it. Thank you for your encouragement. I know Lani sure hopes things will work out more peaceably.

  12. IsobelandCat says:
