In line with the nice weather round these parts, the climate is warm indoors as well as out.
Bugs demonstrates how to use the Bat-A-Rat treat-toy. Thanks to our friend Caren at Cat-Chat for alerting us to this excellent feline torture device toy.
Barney would like to play, but doesn’t quite have the hang of things yet, even when the treats inside are in plain view. See that little crack on the right half? That would be Bugs, having knocked the blessed thing down from the counter in one nano-instant when my back was turned. He does this. Losses include several glass bowls and one prized Quimper plate from my childhood.
If you want to see the exact attitude with which Bugs does this, check out this 2.5-minute incomparable video, about the difference between cats and dogs. Watch for the glass of milk. But I warn you. Do not be partaking of milk or any other liquid while you watch this, because it *will* end up coming out your nose.
Barney has no difficulty understanding how to work the Chip-N-Chirp. He crunches away at this in slow motion. Ruminating, I think.
Bugs’s technique is more refined. Applying judicious use of the tongue.
Even so, it’s pretty exhausting work.
It’s OK, Bugsy, you can rest.
The Chip-N-Chirp after Barnes finished with it.
The End.
As I have cats and a dog, I loved the video because it is so true!
Love following your blog which reaffirms that cats can have totally different personalities but still deserve our love!
Thanks for sharing Bugsy and Barney with us.
Boys will be boys with their toys! We’ve not tried the Bat a Rat but it looks like fun. Purrs to you and your boys from ours.
Great toys they’ve got (or had, as the case may be 🙂 ). Must look out for some of those here in South Africa
oh dear–perfect!
and your beautiful boys….
our BuddyBoop has had to learn how to play–such is the life of rough beginnings…
I am so happy that you purchased the Bat-a-rat!!! I have to tell you, for cats that is my ALL TIME FAVORITE treat dispenser……but who knew it could be so destructive?? lol Thanks for the shout out! xoxoxo
Wow, your boys are tough on toys! and everything else, MOL but wow do they look like they’re having fun!
ok, I like totally don’t even bother with the treat in a toy thingies…mostly cuz I don’t care so much for treats and I am certainly not gonna work for them. On the other paw, I really want to know…where ever did you get that great running cat gif at the bottom of your blog????? And however did you get it inserted into WP???…paw pats Savannah
Savannah, the running cat came from here: http://www.webweaver.nu/clipart/animals/cats/2.shtml
Isn’t it terrific? And so great that it’s free. I really appreciate that.
And it was no biggie to get it into WP, as I recall. Did I treat it just like any other picture? I can’t quite remember. Annnnyways — that’s the deal! Thank you for noticing!
oh dear, I will have to figure how to get it on my blog because I really like it lots!! Thanks
You have to love those disposable pet toys.
Fun, fun, fun! 😀
What can I say the promise of drinking coming out of typist nose worked, that video is fab!
I guess having disposable china, furniture … everything , helps when you’ve got cats! The video did as promised. So now have some laundry to do and paramedics to call! 😉
that video was hilarious and oh so true!
Oh my…. Barney is like Nelson: extremelly beautiful!!
Wonderful, evocative photos! And I’m still snorting from the video. They totally nailed it.
Really nice photos. All of those cats are beautiful.
