Let it never be said
That there aren’t enough beds.
There are seven official beds in this house. Plus there is one more official bed I bought that everybody disdains, for reasons I simply cannot fathom. There’s my bed, of course, but that doesn’t count.
There is Kitchen Bed.
There is Top Shelf and Bottom Shelf.
There are Bedroom Beds.
There is West Bed.
Bugs certainly knows what to do with East Bed.
So will somebody kindly explain to me what this is about?
Or this?
Cats!

About nadbugs
Anita loves cats. This must be because she, too, has had nine lives. She’s been dancing since she could walk, she was a commercial artist and advertising producer, she earned a third-degree black belt in Aikido, she is a drummer with the Afrique Aya Dance Company, she is an attorney, and she’s a meditator and a devoted student of Nonviolent Communication. She also spent one lifetime sidelined with a devastating back injury in 1992. Since then – FELDENKRAIS METHOD® to the rescue. The FELDENKRAIS METHOD is all about dreaming concretely – thinking intelligently and independently by way of a gracious and kind physicality. The work affords all who study it a process by which to reach, with movement, into the mind and the heart, to make nine lives into one whole being.
One word: trust.
We can relate. We have numerous beds, but our preferred locale is on top of Mom or Dad wherever they are or on the warm chair they have just abandoned. The final two photos are so hysterical! What is the sleeping surface? Does not look comfy at all. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Msuricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
The surface is actually pretty cool. Read about it here: https://catself.wordpress.com/2011/07/05/bugs-plugs-bungalow/
But — crammed in like that? Really?
It’s a cat thing. Humans can’t understand. MOL But it’s similar to when people have a room full of comfy furniture and yet like to sit on the floor.. 😉
What? It all looks perfectly natural to me.
Oh we are so envious!! We love those wall beds so much!
Those are some choice resting hang outs. How do those hanging beds work? Are they simply attached with screws or is it a special mount fixture?
Our cats are 10-13 pounds of leaping mayhem!
Great question. The brilliant friend who installed these for me rejected the wall-mount solution Home Depot offered, and instead came up with his own highly idiosyncratic approach. Barney is 12 pounds of leaping mayhem. So far so good. Paws crossed.
Sometimes my cats like a comfortable bed and sometimes they will find the most uncomfortable thing in the house and lie on it.
yep you have the sleeping arrangements (and POSITIONS!) pretty well covered there!
A bed is like perception–it’s all in how you see it.
Because they are cats…
Cats do not shackle their imagination by imposing a rigid and narrow system of categories on it! 🙂
Happy Labor Day! Meow.
A bed is a bed is a bed, wherever I choose it to be … or not to be ….. 😉
Looks like our household. You never know when your cat may feel like a snooze and is so sleepy they can’t quite make it to bed. Good idea to have beds sprinkled all over your home.
When my very first pet, Calico, wanted to sleep in her favorite rocker, she would meow at the door so that my grand aunt (who was the owner of the chair) would get up to let her out. Then she would jump in the chair–her preferred bed.
The whole house is their bed. 😉
Just had to come over and say many CONGRATULATIONS on passing the bar exam! So happy for you. All that hard work paid off :)))))) Big smiles from us, Austin and Caro xxx
Oh my, you kats live in kat heaven!!! There are all kind of beds in my house…but my favorite is the one the humans sleep in. Its king-sized fur a reason. I get the middle, and they get the edges.
(purrs)!
