The cats were nuts today! Swinging from the chandeliers. If we had chandeliers, that is.
First up, Barney.
We started on the ground, fighting off the Red Menace. Not the Communists, you sillies. The sash to my robe.
Next it was straight up the screen to the top of the door. We can do this these days because it’s been the most glorious fall weather ever.
Barney pauses to consider.
Wonder what’s back there.
[Well you can’t see! Not for family viewing!]
OK, Barnes. Here’s the money shot, to make up for that rank indiscretion.
Uh-oh. That somnolent look again. Get down, Barnes, before the need to nap overcomes.
Whew. Safe in the ess. (No idea what the airplane ears were for.)
Next up, Bugs. You have picture the next sequence done at top speed!!
First, we must take a mad dash and flying leap up into Base Camp shelves. It’s a wonder those poor excuses for shelves didn’t collapse; as you can see, they’re pretty lame.
Next, into the bedroom pronto. Air conditioner, with locust (by Bugs’s chin) who chose to creep into the window-frame and die there. Why? Why ask why. I like the balancing tail. Notice also the lovely African piece, relegated down there in the corner because various tails kept whipping her off the wall and onto the floor. Life with cats, you know what I’m talkin’ bout. At least I can see part of her this way.
Next post-haste into the living room. Barely caught him as he dashed past Nelson’s Column.
Long-gone here. I think I hear him back in Base Camp.
Yup. Base Camp north window. Note the balancing tail again. I love the tracery effect of the vines. Which, truth be told, are threatening to engulf this little cabin. Must be a relative of kudzu I got growing out there.
Now the bathroom north window. I must do something about that cord. Kindly ignore the dryer-sheet stuffed in the crack there. That was from the ant infestation. Ever heard that one? — dryer sheets make ants disappear. True. Works.
Thank Cod. Winding down at last. Too bad about the blue eye. Red-eye removal wouldn’t work.
It looks like they’ve become great pals!
Purrs
One hopes. One wishes, but of course that’s irrelevant; we’re talking about cats. Barnes loves contact; Bugs does NOT. So I get the idea that Bugs tolerates Barnes, except when he becomes intolerable. Then we have hisses. Get BACK, you barnacle!
Sounds like my Suki and Hiro. Hiro likes contact (except cuddling with us) with Suki, but Suki doesn’t. She hissed in the beginning too. It took a while before Suki didn’t care much about it anymore. I’m sure Bugsy will too!
Hold that thought!
I will!
Nice weather makes for wonderful doors and windows open, but also makes for some nutty kitties! MOL Love that they’re doing their own thing, but also ending up in the same door!
Open wide. Anything goes.
hahhaahhahaha! cute cat butt! great cat belly!
shooom! go Bugsy!
Egging him on, are we. But srsly, I really am happy he’s so full of beans. And how about that butt-shot. Never mind the censored bit. It’s that scoop of white belly that did me in, I tell you frankly.
Me too that cat belly! And Bugsy, dear little Bugsy racing around HIS house.
I’d guess they egg each other on–that top o’ the door trick is great fun to see out of Barn-Boy, too! >:-D
It is amazing, isn’t it. Barney *clearly* got the idea from Bugs. And then “improved” on it by using the screen.
Thank goodness for the industrial-strength screen!
What do you predict will be NEXT?! hee hee!
Hard to imagine! And BTW, I paid plenty Xtra for that screen. Now I am GLAD I did!!
I remember you saying that it was a deliberate choice to get that special screening. That really made an impression on me (my memory issues being what they are!). And now the Barney Bruiser to scale it like Godzilla on the Chrysler Building!
Who needs television when you have cats?
You are SO right, Charles!! I laughed at your comment. We have car chases! We have no explosions! Yet!
I can see you’re having good times with your boys! And that butt shot? Love it!
Oh they are a stitch.
Hahaha, censored. Thanks for making me choke on my drink!
It sounds like your boys are getting along better than most of my cats (with the exception of Annie and Bit) ever have. Reluctant toleration with perhaps the threat of mutual destruction should negotiations break down too far. That’s about how it goes.
That last picture is just gorgeous, with the two of them sitting side-by-side.
I must repeat: “Reluctant toleration with perhaps the threat of mutual destruction should negotiations break down too far.” You have nailed it!
Sounds like mad cat alley in your place. Very funny post 😀
I must repeat: “Mad cat alley.” PERFECT. What would I do without my brilliant commenters?
Love the huge mitt in the first photo! Great pictures 🙂
Really, his paws are forces of nature. I want a really good shot of them stretched out to max coverage, to show the mind-boggling size and, also, the bright pinkness. Truly amazing.
There’s nothing like a cool down to get the wind in a Cat’s fur and cause crazypantedness!
Barnes keeps a pretty clean machine, by the way…
He is exemplary. In so many ways. You have named but(t) one.
Hello, Anita, is Barney narcoleptic, or did he close his eyes just when wou took the picture?
They are really cute!
looloo
Honestly, I don’t know what gives with those crazy eyes! He makes them all the time like that, and I really don’t think it has anything at all to do with being sleepy. He is just — Barney!
I am exhaustipated!!! 🙂 Glad you censored the shot. Sensibilities you know! 😉
Exhaustipated!! WHAT a fitting word. Reminiscent of the — well, sensibilities.
LOVE Barney. What a character. Thanks for your kind words and wisdom. Purrs to all.
Oh you are very very welcome, dear Layla. Our thoughts are very much with you and we are following carefully for your news.
OMC! they were both on a tear! I do that sometimes…maybe I need a partner to up my game…hmmmmmm, paw pats, Savannah
Looks like they both had a very busy day!!
For once I find censorship really amusing… No wonder Bugs doesn’t do hugs – he’s too busy patrolling and protecting. Good job, Bugs!
now that i have 2 kitties at home, when they are in the mood to play, they are chasing each other everywhere! what a mess these kitties make, throw pillows on the floor, boxes strewn everywhere.. silly cats.. they sure are funny.. reminds me of star because her favorite perch is on top of the door too, crawling up via the screen door.. love your post 🙂
Oh my… the last photo are PURRRRRRFECT!
Sorry! IS PURRRRFECT!
And purrrrrrfect. Our boys were squirrelly too during all the storms but back to normal now.
I am still laughing at the “cencored” part!!!!!!!
Me too. 🙂
